Insurance for your wedding rings is included in our Wedding Insurance. They are covered for seven days before the wedding and 24 hours after the ceremony.
Traditions
In Western cultures a wedding ring is normally worn on the ring finger which is commonly the third finger of the left hand. This can however depend where you are from. In some parts of Eastern and Southern Europe the wedding finger is on the right hand.
So the question lies, why this particular finger? As usual there are differing thoughts on this. Some say legend has it that there is a vein connected directly to the heart from the third finger - the vena amori.
Another thought comes from mediaeval England where a groom would slide the ring firstly on to the bride's thumb, then the index finger, and then the middle finger whilst issuing the blessing, 'in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost", before finally placing the ring on the next available digit.
